The White Rush of Experience, 2017-2018
The White Rush of Experience examines the elements of desire, independence, and sexuality that are latent in the act of dance. Traditionally thought of in classical terms, these pieces reflect the inner psyche while lost in the act of unchoreographed moments of movement that allow for physical, and mental abandon, and spiritual release.
On the dance floor, the female form is often viewed as an object of desire. By emphasizing the solo dancer in abstraction, the figure is given agency, the body becomes language.
