Sehnsucht, 2020
“Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain.”
-Carl G. Jung
Reflecting on current events and our yearning for social interaction, Sehnsucht explores the longing that arises from the inability to touch. During this pandemic, the ability to communicate tactilely with each other and the world around us is lost. Sensory interaction defines objects, reflects heat and emotion, and exudes and extrapolates emotions. Simple gestures we take for granted are highlighted and reflected upon.
